The Planet Needs More Trees
Deforestation, clear cutting, urban and agricultural expansion, infestations and global warming are all taking their toll on the world's forests. Of particular concern is the loss of tropical forest and rain forest, because they are the lungs of our planet. Deciduous tropical trees convert more carbon than coniferous boreal forest trees. They also produce considerably more oxygen for our atmosphere. The answer to deforestation problems is therefore aforestation and reforestation.
Trees hold ground water, fix nitrogen in the soil, and provide shelter and food to numerous species of bird, animal and insect. The Amazonia Reforestation project is dedicated to planting trees in the Orinoco river basin of Colombia. People from all over the world can participate by financing the planting and care of trees, and earning a respectable return from the future sale of the trees they helped to plant.
Colombia and especially its Department of Vichada in the country's East are a land of incredible opportunity and beauty. We invite you to join us in an adventure that is not only good for our planet, but also essential for the health of our children and ourselves. Best of all, people can participate for as little as $100 dollars. Join us today, and make a difference in the world!
