Acacia mangium is an excellent afforestation hardwood. It has a rapid growth rate
and it fixes nitrogen in the soil. It is marketed as White Teak in some jurisdictions,
and ages to a beautiful silvery appearance when left untreated. The Acacia also
produces a high protein nut that can feed humans or be used as cattle feed.
