Up Cashew or Marañon Plantation Prev Next Slideshow

Cashew or marañon trees grow quickly in Vichada, Colombia. The nuts are popular with
those of us who like to nibble, but just as importantly the fruit is food for lots of birds, like
parrots and macaws, and for wildlife. The Latin scientific name for the cashew tree is the
Anacardium occidentale. This gallery illustrates the cashew trees' rapid plantation growth.
